A Maine sandwich shop just opened a new location on a packed street in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood. Bennett’s Sandwich Shop moved into 84 Peterborough St. and is now cranking out sandwiches alongside a stacked lineup of other restaurants, including El Pelón Taqueria, Gyro City, Rod Dee Thai, and Neighborhoods Coffee & Crepes.
The new Fenway location offers hot and cold sandwiches in varied sizes, including three breakfast sandwiches, which are available until 11 a.m. Hot sandwiches range from steak and cheese, meatball, and chicken cheesesteak to pastrami and cheese or chicken fajita. The cold sandwiches feature classic deli meats like ham, turkey, roast beef, and salami, along with tuna, seafood salad, and chicken salad. Bennett’s is also known for its lobster rolls and the double-sized “lobby sub,” stuffed with extra lobster meat.
Bennett’s first opened in Kennebunk, ME in 1982, and it has another location in Portsmouth, NH that opened in 2015, as previously reported. The sandwich shop is open in Fenway from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
