A restaurant chain that churns out pizzas in the blink of an eye will continue its expansion in Greater Boston with a new location on the campus of Boston University. Blaze Pizza will take over the former BurgerFi location at 961 Commonwealth Ave., according to Boston Restaurant Talk, adding to the existing locations in Fenway, the Theater District, and East Cambridge.
Blaze is known for its menu of customizable, fast-made crispy pizzas — and for a ringing endorsement (and investment) from basketball player LeBron James. The restaurant first opened in California in 2012 and has since expanded across the United States and Canada. Diners choose from 36 toppings, and their pizza is assembled in front of them before cooking. The whole process is supposed to take three minutes.
This forthcoming Commonwealth Avenue location is listed on the company’s website. Stay tuned for more details on an exact opening date.
