A new sibling joins a local family of restaurants this week: District 45 becomes part of the Good NU Hospitality group with its opening in Lynn, where it will serve a menu filled with New England classics and local ingredients. Good NU also operates Article 24, Bandita Brighton, Biltmore & Main, Local 149, and The Biltmore Bar & Grille.
District 45, located at 45 Lewis St., is aiming to be a neighborhood spot. The restaurant’s executive chef, Corey O’Shea, is originally from Lynn and plans to focus on sourcing local ingredients, serving dishes such as squash carpaccio, pan-seared cod, crispy skin salmon, and blueberry-braised short ribs. Dessert includes a classic local product, Fluff: There’s a fried Fluffernutter sandwich, topped with a Nutella drizzle. (While Somerville was the birthplace of Fluff, it’s manufactured in Lynn.) Tim Kotkowski (Pastoral, Rosetti’s) oversees the beverage program at District 45, which includes 16 draft lines (six rotating), whiskey, and cocktails.
Inside, the restaurant has a 36-foot mural on display from local artist Marcus Sebastiano. The image incorporates historical elements of Lynn, including the railroad, Fluff factory, and more. District 45 will be open daily for dinner from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m., with a late-night menu from 10 p.m. to 12 a.m. There will also be brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
