Fresh off the opening of a large two-level location in Harvard Square, Tatte Bakery & Cafe stands poised to continue its growth in Greater Boston with a new location in Back Bay. The city’s board of appeal granted the local bakery approval to open at 399 Boylston St., according to Universal Hub, with a 30-seat outdoor patio.
This new location will be right near the Boston Public Garden and still needs approval from the city’s licensing board. It is now one of two forthcoming Tatte locations, as Boston Restaurant Talk notes: Another bakery is planned for the Fenway neighborhood within a 17-story residential building at 1350 Boylston St.
A little more than a year ago, Panera acquired just over a 50 percent stake in Tatte, leaving founder Tzurit Or to operate the collection of bakeries independently but with extensive resources and support for growth, which has fueled expansions in Harvard Square, and now to Fenway and Back Bay. Stay tuned for further details on an exact opening timeline for both new bakeries.
