A Texas-based burger chain with a recognizably silly name has opened a new location in Jamaica Plain. Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes arrived in full force at 225 Centre St. on Tuesday, June 20 with a menu that stays true to the restaurant’s name.

Mooyah serves a wide selection of burgers topped with everything from bacon and cheese to avocado, slaw, blue cheese, and jalapeños. There are also chicken sandwiches, turkey burgers, veggie options, hot dogs, regular and sweet potato fries, salads, ice cream shakes (“frappes” in Boston parlance), and a menu for kids.

There is another Mooyah restaurant in Northborough, and two more Massachusetts locations are planned for Billerica and Berlin. The Jamaica Plain restaurant is open Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
