A former Irish pub in Newton is almost ready to make its comeback and will be doing so with a new name and menu. Grande Kitchen + Bar could open within the next week or two in the space at 118 Needham St. that once housed Mick Morgan’s, and it will bring to the neighborhood a selection of modern American dishes.
Executive chef Adam Kube (Bastille Kitchen) will oversee the seasonal menu, which pulls some ingredients from local sources. There will be 20 draft lines at the restaurant, plus a house cocktail on tap, along with two wines and the restaurant’s own sangria. There were be additional untapped wines as well.
“Our name was inspired by the thought that all facets of hospitality should be magnificent in appearance, size, style or general effect,” the restaurant’s website reads. The space — now “upscale yet comfortable, casual, and rustic” — underwent a complete renovation following the closure of Mick Morgan’s.
Stay tuned for details on an official opening date. When the time comes, Grande Kitchen + Bar will operate Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. for brunch and dinner.
