Doughy goodness arrived in Boston’s Fenway neighborhood at 7 a.m. Monday, May 8 in the form of a brand new location of the South End’s beloved Blackbird Doughnuts. The second shop officially opened today at 20 Kilmarnock St., featuring the familiar lineup of full-sized doughnuts, mini stacks, and even doughnut ice cream sandwiches.
Blackbird Fenway is larger inside than the original Tremont Street spot, with brick walls, walnut countertops, and a familiar fixture hanging from the ceiling: a birdcage chandelier. The shop offers coffee and tea alongside a rotating selection of doughnuts that includes flavors like frosted strawberry, vanilla glaze, salted toffee, triple chocolate cake, cinnamon sugar, powdered sugar, and a version modeled after an everything bagel. Blackbird also recently added doughnut cakes to its repertoire, which will also be available at the Fenway location.
Blackbird Doughnuts first opened in January 2015 and hinted at expansion plans last fall. The shops are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
