A new brewery coming to Jamaica Plain will offer the neighborhood a taste of its beers this weekend. Turtle Swamp Brewing plans to open its doors from 12 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, letting visitors get a look at the space and purchase crowlers of beer and brewery swag.
Founder Nicholas Walther, a former Harpoon brewer, teamed up with John Lincecum to launch Turtle Swamp, as previously reported. Walther tells Eater they will give away a few samples on Saturday and will keep the garage doors open so people can see inside the brewery, which he calls “the nicest part of the building so far.” Outside the building remains a bit of a construction zone, “but the brewery itself is functioning, and we're very proud of it,” he says.
Visitors will be able to purchase two beers on Saturday: the Serendipitous Paler Ale, and Nik's Bitter (but Never Angry). Turtle Swamp is located at 3377 Washington St., near the MBTA’s Green Street stop on the Orange Line. The brewery has been under construction for several months now, and the process has been well-documented on the brewery’s Instagram page.
