A New York-based restaurant with one existing location in Boston’s Back Bay is about to add another to the mix: Dig Inn will arrive in Downtown Crossing this Thursday, June 1, taking over the space at 277 Washington St. near Clover and Chipotle.
The growing fast-casual chain is known for its customizable bowls; diners choose from a base (such as greens, quinoa, or rice), “market sides” (such as roasted sweet potatoes, baby bok choy with yogurt ranch, or summer radish), and mains (such as charred chicken thigh, meatballs, or sockeye salmon). The existing Boston location was the first to add breakfast to the menu, including oats, yogurt, and grain bowls with egg and avocado. The restaurants highlight seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers.

With the Downtown Crossing location opening this week, another new Dig Inn is still in the works and on track to open within the Prudential Center at 800 Boylston St. in late July, just down the street from Boston’s first location, which is at 557 Boylston St.
Dig Inn’s Downtown Crossing location will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekends.
