A New Hampshire-based restaurant that specializes in macaroni and cheese will add a new location in Massachusetts. With locations in Manchester and Portsmouth, Mr. Mac’s Macaroni & Cheese will open next in in Tyngsboro, MA, according to Boston Restaurant Talk, and the growing restaurant group has hinted at possible expansion beyond this third location.
The Tyngsboro restaurant will be located at 440 Middlesex Rd. and will feature the restaurant’s usual lineup of made-to-order baked macaroni and cheese dishes, macaroni salads, leafy salads, and more. Loaded macaroni dishes include a Buffalo chicken version made with Cabot cheddar and American cheese and served with bleu cheese or ranch dressing; a garden veggie version filled with tomatoes, mushrooms, broccoli, green peppers, and onions; and a “lobstah” dish made with the restaurant’s signature cheeses and lemon.
With this foray into Massachusetts, further expansion from Mr. Mac’s could be in the works, with its website stating: “You never know where a new Mr. Mac’s will pop up!” (You could even open your own.)
Mr. Mac’s first opened in 2010, the work of Valerie Anderson and her brother, Patrick Cain. The restaurant has received recognition from Trip Advisor, New Hampshire Magazine, and WMUR, among others.
