A delivery-only restaurant starts up service today in Needham, featuring a gluten-free menu of seasonal ingredients. Shake Shack veteran Dan Tavan is the chef-owner of True Taste Seasonal Kitchen, and Barcelona Wine Bar alum David Tak is also onboard as chef. They’re serving up delivery meals within a standard radius of the Needham base at 301 Reservoir St.
The menu is free of added sugar, dairy, shellfish, pork, and soy, as previously reported, with ample options for anyone following Paleo or Whole30 diets. Dishes include bowls filled with roasted chicken, brisket, vegetarian options, and more. There are also hot and cold “tastes” that include roasted vegetable sides, slaw, and pickled vegetables, plus salads, soups and stews, and dessert bites.
Ordering is available online through the True Taste website, and the restaurant will be partnering with delivery companies such as GrubHub and DoorDash. It will also offer catering for small office meetings, large groups, and special events.
Tavan plans to launch a True Taste food truck in Boston and Cambridge this summer (which would also serve as a delivery base to expand the radius into those cities), and opening a brick-and-mortar restaurant in the future isn’t off the table.
True Taste is currently open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
