Boston may be on track to welcome a dueling piano bar into a new Seaport District hotel. D Street Dueling Pianos will seek support from the Fort Point Neighborhood Association this week, and if all goes well, plans could move forward for the venue’s eventual opening within the Element Boston Seaport, near Lawn on D and the convention center, according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
If the neighborhood association voices its approval for the piano bar, it will become one of two such entertainment spots in the city; the other is Howl at the Moon in the Financial District. The Element Boston Seaport hotel is located at 391 D St., and the piano bar is reportedly seeking seven-day liquor and entertainment licenses. Just down the street, another hotel restaurant is on the brink of opening at the intersection of the Seaport, Fort Point, and Southie neighborhoods: The Social Register is slated to debut within the Aloft Hotel this spring, right across from the Lawn on D, which has a regular summer schedule featuring live music and outdoor dining.
