A roast beef expert with roots in South Boston has opened a new restaurant north of the city. Bella’s Roast Beef made its debut in February at 1211 Osgood St. in North Andover, according to Wicked Local, where it is serving up plenty of roast beef sandwiches, among other offerings.
Owner Harry Kanellos told Wicked Local he’s carrying on a family business: His father operated the now-shuttered Liberty Bell Roast Beef in South Boston from 1979 to 1999, when Harry took over. Now, the Middleton resident has a shop closer to home. In addition to roast beef, Bella’s serves a range of hot and cold sandwiches, from pastrami and crispy chicken to fried fish, tuna BLT, chicken parm, and Italian. There are also hamburgers, hot dogs, sandwich dinner plates, and barbecue steak tips, plus pizzas and calzones.
Bella’s Roast Beef operates Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. It is closed on Sundays.
