A North End restaurant plans to move to a new, larger location: Carmelina’s will relocate from 307 Hanover St. to 124 Salem St., according to Boston Restaurant Talk.
Carmelina’s has been around for about five years and serves Italian specialties for lunch and dinner. Owner and executive chef Damien DiPaola applied for a malt, wine, and liqueur license for the new location, which is slated to close at midnight. There are two rooms on the first floor that include a dining area, a bar, and the restaurant’s kitchen, and the basement will accommodate food prep and storage, according to a city licensing board agenda.
The menu at Carmelina’s includes small-plate appetizers such as baby eggplant, fried calamari, and ahi tuna arrabbiata. There is a wide selection of pasta and risotto dishes, and the main courses include meat and fish, with additional sides and salads as well. In its current location, Carmelina’s serves wine and beer.
