New York-based cookie dough shop DŌ — yes, that’s pronounced “dough” — recently went on a domain-buying spree, snapping up domain names in a number of large cities across the country (and seemingly parking blank Instagram accounts as well). Boston is on the list, along with Nashville, Austin, and others. Specific expansion plans or shrewd web strategy? Yet to be seen.

Either way, all of the domain names are indeed registered to a “Kristen Page” — DŌ’s owner is named Kristen Page Tomlan — although the Instagram accounts could be registered to anybody. Here’s the Boston one. Meanwhile, Massachusetts’ corporations database doesn’t yet show anything registered to Kristen Page or Kristen Tomlan or anything under the name “Cookie Do” or “DŌ.” (Eater has reached out to the company for comment on potential expansion; this story will be updated when more information becomes available.)

Back in February, Cambridge Day asked Tomlan about the possibility of expanding to the area, and she replied that it wasn’t “completely out of the question — just not right away. We certainly have plans to expand, but we want to get the first shop up and running first.”

So what is DŌ? It’s a shop stuffed full of cookie dough that is ready to eat in scoops, sundaes, milkshakes, ice cream sandwiches, and more. And it’s supposed to be safer than the batter you lick off the spoon at home; it’s made with a pasteurized egg product and “heat-treated, ready-to-eat” flour. For the traditionalists, the cookie dough can indeed be baked into actual cookies.

The New York shop, which opened early this year, has been seeing pretty large crowds. Stay tuned for more details on if and when DŌ will arrive in the Boston area. Meanwhile, the company ships nationwide via Goldbely. Or, as Cambridge Day notes, you can just head to Little Donkey in Cambridge and order the cookie dough dessert.
