A long-awaited restaurant in Roslindale has finally made its debut, opening across the street from its sister spot. Located at 753 South St., the eponymous restaurant has been in the works for some time and held its soft opening this week, according to Universal Hub.
Delfino’s owner Stephen Judge bought the space that had housed Derna’s Diner back in 2014, at the time proposing a new restaurant and bar with a patio out back. Now, three years later, the plan has come to life, and 753 South is serving up small plates, plus beer and wine, thanks to a new liquor license it was able to secure from the city.
The restaurant is located just off the Roslindale Village commuter rail stop, in a section of the neighborhood that’s home to a number of other dining spots, including Birch Street Bistro, Sophia’s Grotto, Effie’s Kitchen, and more.
