The restaurant will span the first level of the 13-floor hotel, as previously reported, with a seating capacity of about 230, spread across two bar areas and a main dining room, plus a seasonal outdoor patio. Located just across the street from Seaport’s popular outdoor summer space Lawn on D, The Social Register will serve cocktails and feature live entertainment once it opens, including DJs at dinner, according to its preliminary website.
The Social Register is named for “a directory book which was first published in 1890 and is still in production today contain[ing] all the prominent names of The Boston Brahmins and other influential families in the community and all over the world,” according to the restaurant’s Facebook page, which promises that The Social Register will carry on the “charm and appeal” of The Brahmin. “The theme of high society and timeless allure will be found in everything from the décor to the menu and cocktails in a comfortable setting,” per Facebook.
Aristocrat Hospitality, the group behind The Social Register, consists of Russ deMariano, Ed Brooks, and Thomas Garcia. DeMariano and Brooks are part of The Brahmin team and are also working with Christopher Roche for a restaurant to replace Gerard's in Dorchester, as previously reported.
