An Ethiopian restaurant in Jamaica Plain will soon have a new sibling located a mere 200 feet away, as Boston Restaurant Talk reported. Blue Nile Cafe, located at 389 Centre St., will take over the former Aurum Pies space at 377 Centre St., according to Jamaica Plain News, and could open the new restaurant, Ethiopian Cafe, as early as May.
Blue Nile’s original owner, Ellena Haile, sold the restaurant to her brother, Yosef Haile, who will add the second restaurant to the mix. A sign is already in place at the new space, indicating that “Ethiopian Cafe Inc.” will serve breakfast as well, unlike its older sibling, which only serves lunch and dinner. The American-style breakfast menu will have some Ethiopian items, including a specific coffee service that uses a clay pot for the process. Lunch and dinner at the restaurant will heavily feature Ethiopian dishes but will reportedly be different from the Blue Nile menu.
