A Burlington steakhouse has a new location on the way, as does a sports bar that’s expanded its reach in the Boston area in recent months. The Bancroft and Tony C’s Sports Bar & Grill will both open new restaurants at Peabody’s Northshore Mall, according to Patch. This news comes on the tail of an announcement that the P.F. Chang’s within the mall will close on April 11.
The Bancroft is located at 15 Third Ave. in Burlington and is known for its hearty steak entrees, cocktail program, and wine list. The restaurant serves lunch, dinner, brunch, and drinks, and it’s a member of the Webber Restaurant Group, which also includes Gibbet Hill Grill in Groton and Scarlet Oak Tavern in Hingham.
The Northshore Mall restaurant will break from form slightly, with a new menu and a new name. Bancroft & Co. will open in spring 2018, and the menu from chef Mario Capone will be different from the original restaurant, while retaining some of the Burlington favorites, according to an Instagram post. Capone is an alum of Lydia Shire’s empire, having done stints at Locke-Ober, Scampo, Towne, and Biba, as well as Daniel Boulud’s Daniel in New York City.
Tony C’s also has a Burlington location in the same Third Avenue development as The Bancroft, along with other restaurants in Somerville and Boston’s Fenway and Seaport neighborhoods. Peabody’s restaurant will be the fifth for Tony C’s, which specializes in providing sports fans with classic American comfort food. As of now, the new location is slated to open in April 2018.
