Located near the Minuteman Bike Path

A new cafe is now open just off the Minuteman Bike Path in Bedford. Short Stop Cafe, located at a new property development called The Crossing, specializes in Belgian waffles and other house-made pastries. It kicked off business Wednesday morning, April 5.

The 54 Loomis St. cafe serves Liege-style waffles in a variety of preparations. For starters, there are “snack size” waffles flavored with honey peanut butter, maple syrup, chocolate walnut, green tea chocolate, white chocolate, and dark chocolate coconut cream. Plain waffles are also available with different toppings that range from strawberry and whipped cream to chocolate, ice cream, and homemade fruit jams. Plus, there’s a “hot bread waffle sandwich,” which comes with ham, cheeses, and maple syrup. The cafe also serves other baked goods, such as croissants and danishes.

Short Stop Cafe is owned by Sandy Duan and her husband Ji Su, as Bedford-Business reported, and it’s open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. It will open for business on Saturdays starting in May.
