A new burrito shop will fill the void left with the departure of Boloco from Cleveland Circle last May. Amelia’s Taqueria will fling open the doors to its third Boston location next month, according to Boston Magazine, taking over the space at 1936 Beacon St. where The Real Deal operated before it too closed down earlier this year.
Amelia’s first opened in Allston in 2013 and added a spot near Northeastern University in 2014. Now, it will move into another section of the city with a dense population of college students. Amelia’s will be on a stretch of Beacon Street that boasts plenty of regular haunts of the Boston College/Brighton community, including Pino’s Pizza, Eagles Deli, Chipotle, and Cityside Bar, among others.
The new Amelia’s will predominantly offer takeout, but there will be about 30 seats, Boston Magazine reported. The restaurant place is known for serving a full lineup of customizable Mexican-style dishes, including burritos, tacos, chimichangas, and fajitas, as well as nachos, quesadillas, and salads. Amelia’s could be open in Cleveland Circle by mid-April.
