Less than a year after opening her first-ever permanent tea bar in Jamaica Plain, Evy Chen, the founder of EvyTea, has another brick-and-mortar location in the works. Chen has secured a space at 1 Monument Ave. in Charlestown, according to a recent post on Facebook, and she’s hiring employees to round out the team.
“Our family is growing and we can't wait to share more details soon,” the post reads. Chen founded EvyTea in 2012, making tea with a cold brew method that draws out a more delicate, less bitter flavor than hot water-steeped tea. EvyTea products, which are certified 100 percent USDA organic, have been sold at stores throughout the metro area, including Whole Foods.

Last June, Chen opened the EvyTea Bar in Jamaica Plain, which offers cold brew coffee, tea, matcha, and more on tap, along with assorted tea and coffee lattes and hot teas, among other items. Recently, Chen acquired an Airstream trailer, which will be used as a mobile tea bar for events, as previously reported. She has a few new products in development as well, and she just launched a selection of bubble teas.
