A local bakery added a new location to its ranks today. Swissbäkers opened at 7 a.m. this morning at One Broadway in Kendall Square, bringing plenty of baked goods, pretzels, and treats to the tech heart of Cambridge.
Swissbäkers operates three locations in the area: one in Allston, one in Reading, and another within the Boston Public Market, in addition to appearing at farmers markets in Natick and Norwood. This new Kendall Square location will cater to the neighborhood’s business crowd, operating Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The bakery is known for its Swiss-style baked goods, including choco weggli, pajazzo breads, assorted croissants, and linzer cookies, among other items. A menu board outside the Cambridge bakery indicates that the new location will offer a few different sandwiches, plus soup options for each day of the week. There will also be salad, müesli, and pretzels, plus coffee and juice.
Update, 2 p.m.: This is not a permanent location; it is a pop-up slated to last about four to six weeks.
