A waterfront restaurant in East Boston opens its doors today inside a brand new luxury apartment building. To complement the water views, ReelHouse (6 New St.) serves a menu of coastal cuisine under the culinary direction of executive chef Marc Orfaly (Pigalle, The Beehive), making its debut Friday, April 21 at 5 p.m., as Boston Magazine reported.
The menu at ReelHouse features plenty of seafood options, including raw bar items, lobster, and blackened fish tacos, among others. There are also meat dishes like burgers, steaks, and a special Kobe beef and foie gras dumpling dish. ReelHouse also serves a catch of the day and a New England-style clam bake with mussels, clams, lobster, chorizo, potatoes, and corn.
On the beverage side, ReelHouse has a large wine list, beers on draft and in bottles, and a cocktail list inspired by traditional seaside drinks, including Mai Tais and drinks mixed with citrus, coconut water, and more.
ReelHouse is a member of the Navy Yard Hospitality Group, which also operates Mija Cantina & Tequila Bar in Faneuil Hall and Pier 6 in Charlestown. The interior features dark wood accents and 141 seats, some at a communal table and others at the bar. Outdoors, there is an oceanside patio and a second bar.
The kitchen operates Sunday through Wednesday from 5 to 10 p.m. and Thursday through Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m., with the bar open until 2 a.m. all days. There will also be brunch on Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additionally, there will be a complimentary water shuttle that runs between ReelHouse and Pier 6 starting in June.
