A restaurant chain specializing in Neapolitan-style pizzas is set to launch its first location in Massachusetts at a growing complex north of the city. Midici (tagline: “The Neapolitan Pizza Company”) will open soon at 463 Assembly Row, according to the website for the fast-casual chain — or “fast-fine,” in the company’s own words. Midici is headquartered in Los Angeles and has locations around the country.

This is the restaurant’s first foray into New England, and there are additional locations coming soon to states up and down the East Coast. The menu at Midici features Neapolitan-style pizzas with a light, thin crust, and the pizza varieties include Margherita, marinara, bianca, pesto, and assorted specialty versions topped with everything from truffle and vegetables to prosciutto and an egg. There are also burrata plates served with balsamic reduction sauce and bread, plus appetizers, salads, desserts (including a Nutella calzone), and more.

Midici will join Ernesto’s in serving pizza to the Somerville retail and residential complex. Ernesto’s is located at 641 Assembly Row, and its original location is on Salem Street in the North End. Eater has reached out for more details on the opening of Somerville’s Midici restaurant and will share any updates as they are made available.

Update, 1 p.m.: Per a rep for the company, the Somerville location has an anticipated opening timeline of fall 2017.
