RIP
Louis DiBella, founder of the infamous D.B.’s Golden Banana strip club in Peabody, has died. He was 91. DiBella was also a wholesale fruit vendor — “one of the top banana sellers in the region, according to his family,” reports the Globe. In addition to the Golden Banana, DiBella was behind several other nightclubs in and around Boston.
Crimewire
Jimmies Ice Cream (48 Corinth St., Roslindale) was the victim of a weekend robbery, reports Universal Hub; someone smashed the front door and grabbed the cash register. In other news, North End Waterfront reports that a man was arrested inside an unnamed Hanover Street restaurant for trespassing and disorderly conduct; he was apparently harassing customers through the restaurant’s open windows and then went inside to ask the kitchen staff for food.
