Harpoon Is One Step Closer to Getting Its Weekend Beer Garden

The licensing board still needs to give permission

With warmer weather moving in, few things are better than digging into pretzels and beer al fresco. Soon, patrons at Harpoon Brewery in Boston’s Seaport District could be able to do just that — the city of Boston’s Board of Appeal approved the brewery’s plans to operate a beer garden on Friday and Saturday nights, according to Universal Hub.

Harpoon still needs approval from the city’s licensing board, but once that is attained, it will move forward with setting up an area for up to 200 beer drinkers in an outdoor space that’s usually used for production during the week. The beer garden would have tables and chairs, along with portable toilets, and would be a seasonal operation, as previously reported.

The Seaport brewery has rolled out plenty of new beers in the last year and recently overhauled the labeling and design for its UFO beers.
