A pair of restaurateurs with a handful of restaurants in Boston are on the verge of opening a new taqueria in Dorchester. Antique Taqueria is on track to debut at 2297 Dorchester Ave. in May, according to the Improper Bostonian, with chef Colton Coburn-Wood leading the kitchen.
Brian O’Donnell and Ken Casey of the Dropkick Murphys will bring Antique Taqueria to life in a space that formerly housed an antique shop, as previously reported. O’Donnell and Casey are also behind Lower Mills Tavern (located down the street from the forthcoming Antique Taqueria) and Lion’s Tail in the South End.
The menu at Antique Taqueria will feature a handful of ceviche options and about a dozen different tacos, plus specials each day. Coburn-Wood told the Improper Bostonian that potential tacos include a fried crab version on a blue-corn tortilla, chili-infused beer battered fish tacos, and crispy pork belly tacos with a prickly pear syrup. Tortillas will be made in house.
Taniya Nayak, an HGTV designer and O’Donnell’s wife, will be designing the restaurant, as she did for Lower Mills Tavern and Lion’s Tail. The restaurant will serve a selection of mezcal and tequila.
Update, 7/24/17: This restaurant opens today under the name Yellow Door Taqueria.
