Cambridge has a new restaurant for modern Indian cuisine. Nirvana: The Taste of India opened its doors at 1680 Mass Ave. on the last day of February within the former West Side Lounge space between Harvard and Porter Squares, according to Boston Restaurant Talk. West Side Lounge closed down last April after nearly 20 years in business, as previously reported.
Nirvana features a selection of regional Indian dishes, including dosa, pav bhaji, and dahi bhala (lentil dumplings), plus samosas, pakoras, soups, and chaat. Nirvana also has tandoori dishes, along with plenty of vegetarian entrees that come with papadum, rice, and chutney. Also on the menu: chicken, goat, seafood, and lamb entrees, plus assorted biryani, breads, and desserts.
Nirvana offers a lunch buffet from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
