A Philadelphia-based restaurant that specializes in stir-fry and salads has signed a lease and will open its first Boston-area location in the Fenway neighborhood. Honeygrow will be moving into the new Viridian development at 1282 Boylston St.
The restaurant serves fast-casual stir-fry bowls, salads, and desserts that use local and seasonal ingredients. The counter-service setup allows customers to use a touchscreen ordering system to choose from a selection of pre-designed menu items or to customize their own dishes.
Philadelphia chef and Honeygrow culinary director David Katz oversaw development of the restaurant’s current menu in partnership with CEO Justin Rosenberg. Dishes are built around a noodle, rice, or lettuce base, with protein options ranging from roasted pork to spicy tofu or eggs. Additions run the gamut from pineapple, peppers, and broccoli to sesame seeds, bean sprouts, and grape tomatoes, and the selection of sauces that round out each dish are made in-house. There’s further customization in the salad section of the menu, and Honeygrow offers fruit-based desserts that come with a variety of toppings.
This will be the first New England restaurant for Honeygrow, which plans to open additional area locations after Fenway, which is slated to arrive in August 2017.
