A familiar face in Boston’s sandwich world has opened a new location in Cambridge. Al’s Cafe is now slinging subs out of its new home at 600 Technology Sq., according to a tip Eater received on Twitter. The restaurant’s website indicates that this is a soft opening, and there will be a grand opening celebration on April 3.
There are three other locations of Al’s Cafe: two in Downtown Boston and one in Woburn, as previously reported. Al’s used to have another location in Harvard Square within the school’s Holyoke Center, but it vacated that space due to construction.
Al’s serves a selection of hot and cold subs, beverages, chips, soups, and salads. Sub options include prosciutto with mozzarella and tomato, roasted turkey, honey ham, chicken salad, eggplant parm, and more. Al’s also offers a “bag lunch” option of a small sandwich, chips, and a soda, as well as a version with soup instead of chips. Al’s is open in Tech Square Monday through Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
