#OpenInBOS
Another day, another snowstorm. It’s looking like another messy winter day today, so a number of restaurants around town are closing or altering their hours. Keep an eye on our winter dining guide throughout the day for updates on what’s open (and what’s not), where you can enjoy some weather-related specials, etc. On a related note: Drink lots of hot chocolate today.
Eat Your Veggies
The Improper Bostonian challenged a few local chefs to create recipes from their most hated ingredients, resulting in dishes such as charred kung pao broccoli rabe from Nick Dixon (Lincoln Tavern), eggplant plantain lasagna from Erika Rosario (The Regal Beagle), and more.
“Be Ready for the Roller Coaster”
WGBH’s Craving Boston chatted with three restaurant owners about what it takes to open a restaurant, from the challenges of both understaffing and overstaffing to permitting red tape and beyond.
Barbecue Alert
Baby’s Bonetown BBQ food truck launched with an event at Night Shift Brewing over the weekend; keep an eye out for the “heavy metal food truck” around the Greater Boston area and Providence, serving up brisket, ribs, mac & cheese, and more. In other barbecue news, Charlie T’s Barbeque opened at the Firefly Golf Course in Seekonk, Massachusetts (350 Fall River Ave.) over the weekend (just outside of Providence) with Texas-style beef ribs, brisket, and burgers, among other things. Here’s the menu: page 1, page 2. Charlie T’s also has a full bar.
Breakfast Reminder
As noted in Wednesday’s Morning Briefing, Strip-T’s (93 School St., Watertown) begins light breakfast service today with breakfast sandwiches (served on house-made biscuits), avocado toast, and a few other items. 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. Dine in or takeout.
