A Vegas-based sports bar will soon bring so much plaid — well, just small amounts of it per each scantily-clad server — to the Fenway neighborhood. Tilted Kilt, self-dubbed “The Best Looking Sports Pub You’ve Ever Seen,” is set to open at 96 Brookline Ave. in the former Copperfield’s space by the end of the month, bringing with it a Celtic take on the “breastaurant” genre. This will be the second Massachusetts location for the chain; there’s one open in Billerica. Quincy didn’t want one.
This project has been in the works since the summer of 2015, and Copperfield’s closed in November 2015 to make way for the pub. Tilted Kilts around the country have a combo of classic pub fare and regional specialties. Fenway’s location will have a “Wicked Boston Burger” along with an appropriately named rib entree called “The Big Rack.” Other menu options include shepherd’s pie, fish and chips, and a barbecue pulled pork sandwich. There will also be more than 30 different beer options.
This new location is expected to hire more than 100 positions before it opens at the end of the month, and a group of those hires will be Kilt Girls, or servers who audition to wear the restaurant’s patented uniform of a mini-kilt and plaid crop-top. Tilted Kilt will also have televisions for diners to watch sports. The chain is rapidly expanding, and there will likely be close to 100 locations around the country by the end of the year.
Correction, 2/10/17: This piece has been updated to correct the expected number of locations that could open by the end of 2017.
