A Somerville sushi spot is about to add a sibling restaurant in Fenway, and there will be plenty of trendy food items on the menu. Sushi Kappo plans to open its doors Sunday, December 10, at 86 Peterborough St., and it will serve a full lineup of sushi, along with poke bowls, sushi burritos, and ramen.
Sushi Kappo is a new venture from the folks behind Ebi Sushi in Somerville’s Union Square, and it joins a neighborhood bursting with dining options, including Gyro City, Rod Dee Thai, El Pelón Taqueria, and more. Sushi Kappo will seat 16 people, as previously reported, and the interior features wooden furniture and a wall decorated with a famous wave print from the Japanese artist Hokusai.
While Ebi focuses on sushi and other items like donburi, Sushi Kappo adds a new dimension to its menu with the inclusion of ramen. There will also be nigiri and sashimi sushi options, plus the ever-popular sushi burritos (wrapped in seaweed) and poke bowls made with salmon or tuna. Maki rolls are also on the menu, along with gyoza.
The restaurant will cater to both dine-in and take-out customers. Sushi Kappo is on track to open at 11 a.m. this Sunday and will operate daily from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
