Fresh off a new restaurant opening in Berlin, Massachusetts, Texas-based burger chain Mooyah Burgers, Fries & Shakes (stylized as MOOYAH, in all caps, like a very excited cow who doesn’t like Oxford commas) adds a new Boston proper restaurant at 140 Tremont St., overlooking Boston Common, on Thursday, December 21.
Mooyah has several other locations in Massachusetts, including a Jamaica Plain restaurant (225 Centre St.), which opened in June, and others in Northborough and Billerica. The Boston Common Mooyah takes over for Ziti’s Italian Express, which itself had taken the place of another burger restaurant, the local chain UBurger.
Mooyah’s menu stays true to its name, featuring burgers, french fries, and ice cream-based shakes (frappes, if you’re from here). The burgers come with toppings ranging from bacon and jalapeño to fried onion and avocado, and there are turkey and chicken options as well, in addition to hot dogs. Vegetarians need not cower, either: There are veggie patties available.
Mooyah’s Boston Common location is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon to 10 p.m. Sunday.
