A cafe popular among Boston University students and known for its smoothies, frozen yogurt, and sandwiches has closed down, but it will reopen before the end of the year. Angora Cafe has papered over the windows at its 1024 Commonwealth Ave. storefront, but the change won’t last long: The restaurant is undergoing renovations and is slated to reopen on December 28.
Angora Cafe’s extensive menu leans Mediterranean and spans breakfast, lunch, and dinner. For breakfast, there are omelets and egg and cheese sandwiches, plus a breakfast burrito and an LA BLT, with mozzarella, pesto, and roasted potatoes joining the regular ingredients. Lunch gets more expansive, with a selection of flatbreads, wraps, and even more sandwiches, ranging from falafel to roasted chicken, as well as items like hummus, tabouli, and quinoa bowls.
Perhaps the most well-known menu items are Angora Cafe’s more than a dozen smoothies and soft-serve frozen yogurts, with customizable mix-in options. Look out for the newly renovated Angora Cafe’s return at the end of the month.
