A salad-filled restaurant arrives in Boston’s Post Office Square today, with a touch of charity amid the leafy greens. Sweetgreen’s newest location (225 Franklin St.) opens at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 15, bringing a familiar menu of seasonal salads to the neighborhood. This marks the third regional opening for the Washington, DC-based chain in the last couple months, and it’s the 13th Sweetgreen to open in Massachusetts since the chain first arrived in Back Bay in June 2013.

To celebrate opening day at Post Office Square, the new Sweetgreen location will donate 100 percent of its December 15 sales to Fresh Truck, a mobile farmers market. Sweetgreen also donated salads to United Way of Massachusetts Bay and Merrimack Valley for distribution to community organizations.

The Franklin Street restaurant spans a whopping 2,200 square feet and has an open kitchen with a specific counter space designated for mobile and online order pickup. Those familiar with Sweetgreen will recognize the seasonal menu and the local producers who provide ingredients for the salads, including fruits and vegetables.

The Post Office Square Sweetgreen is open from 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, including weekends.

Next up, keep an eye out for openings in Dedham (Legacy Place) and Wellesley.
