As the weather turns cold, there’s a new bakery in Newton serving up warm baked goods: Prelude Bakery is now in operation at 140R Adams St., near Tommy Doyle’s, West Street Tavern, and Sangria Restaurante.
Prelude opened at the end of November, according to owner Edik Nikogosyan, reached at the bakery on Monday. Images on the bakery’s website and social media show off some of the items offered, including carrot and red velvet cakes, honey cake, napoleons, croissants, dulce de leche and more.
“We work to source the freshest and most authentic ingredients and use old-fashioned techniques to ensure the highest quality,” the website reads. “Our goal is to make your tastebuds happy.”
Prelude Bakery is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. It’s located about half a mile from Koko, another independent bakery that opened its doors in August 2016.
