In spite of fall, Boston will soon be extra leafy, thanks to two new Sweetgreen restaurants opening their doors this week. The Washington, DC-based chain brings its 11th and 12th Massachusetts locations to life on Tuesday, November 7, and Thursday, November 9, at 47 Northern Ave. (Seaport District) and 60 State St. (Downtown Boston), respectively.
To celebrate Sweetgreen’s arrival in both the Seaport and downtown, the salad chain has partnered with Flour Bakery to offer a free mini sticky bun to the first 200 customers on each opening day. In Seaport, the restaurant has bleacher-style seating and an open kitchen, while the downtown restaurant’s design aims to cater to online orders. Sales from both locations on opening day will be donated to Fresh Truck, which serves as a mobile market for underserved areas in Boston.
Both restaurants opening this week open at 10:30 a.m. Sweetgreen’s not stopping with these two openings, either: There are several more locations on the way, including one in Boston’s Post Office Square and others in Dedham (at Legacy Place), Wellesley, and Brookline’s Coolidge Corner.
