After several years of operating a tented beer garden at Somerville’s Assembly Row, Somerville Brewing Company (a.k.a. Slumbrew) unveils its full-blown brewpub within the complex, settling in permanently at 490 Foley St. American Fresh Brewhouse officially opens Friday, December 1, complete with an expansive dining area and bar, a brewing space, and a full food menu.

This permanent spot replaces the beer garden, spanning nearly 4,000 square feet of space. Inside, there are blue tile and wood accents, metal furniture, wooden tables, bar seating, and several high-tops, bearing some resemblance to Somerville Brewing Company’s main space in Boynton Yards, which remains open. In seasonal months, there will be outdoor seating at the new Assembly Row location.

The brewpub has 20 draft lines, and its brewers will be able to offer experimental beers brewed onsite. Additionally, with a full kitchen, American Fresh will have entrees and small plates available along with beer.

The menu is currently undergoing some final edits, but American Fresh plans to share the specifics on its Facebook page once everything is ready. Keep an eye out there for food and beer details for opening day.

American Fresh Brewhouse will be open from 11 a.m. to midnight daily.
