A Taiwan-based tea shop chain with United States locations around the Northeast and in Texas just opened its first location in Boston, filling Chinatown with cups and cups full of bubble tea. Gong Cha opened earlier this month at 44 Harrison Ave., with various posts on Yelp and Facebook indicating there were long lines awaiting its arrival.

Gong Cha serves a lengthy beverage menu with brewed tea, milk tea, and coffee mixes, along with latte blends, smoothies, and yogurts. There’s plenty of customization available: Customers can choose from various toppings, including pudding, coconut jelly, red bean, and assorted pearl boba. Customers can also specify the level of sweetness of the drink, as well as the volume of ice, and the drinks are available in two sizes, medium and large.

Gong Cha has other locations in Manhattan, Queens, Long Island, and Brooklyn, as well as New Jersey and Texas. The tea shop introduces seasonal specials at select locations, according to posts on social media.

What an awesome first day in Boston! A huge thank you to our amazing #gongcha fans #bubbletea #boston @ Boston China Town
