As the rest of the city gets preparations in order for Thanksgiving, one new juice shop in Charlestown prepares for its forthcoming grand opening. After the holiday, Boston Juicing will officially open its doors on Sunday, November 26, at 283 Main St. in Charlestown.
Founder Cara Birritteri, a veteran, had been working as an engineer after two tours in Iraq when her father was diagnosed with diabetes. In an effort to help him manage his treatment and medications, she began preparing juices for him, and over several months he was able to reduce his medication volume. From there, Birritteri began Boston Juicing as a juice delivery service and cultivated clients through appearances at farmers markets and health food conventions.
While Boston Juicing has provided delivery juices and health coaching for two years, it will now have a permanent home in the form of the Charlestown cafe. Birritteri partnered with Kelsey Gernert, and together they will offer juices alongside smoothies, sandwiches, soups, and more health-focused items within the new shop.
The grand opening event runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on November 26.
