Chicken wings galore will arrive soon in Cambridgeport with a dozen different flavors. Chick Chick Boom appears to be on the verge of opening at 80 River St., the work of Thelonious Monkfish’s owner Jamme Chantler and chef Ginger Phomjun, who are pulling in bits of Asian cuisine to the chicken-centric menu.
Posted on the restaurant’s window, the Chick Chick Boom menu features 12 different sauces for chicken wings, including three varieties of Buffalo sauce, barbecue, honey miso, Thai green curry, and spicy peanut sauce. Wings will be available either bone-in or boneless, with the latter sold by weight and the former sold by count. There will also be an option for wing-based entrees, where wings come alongside dishes of steamed Jasmine rice, pad thai, lo mein, pad see ew, or other options. Also on the menu: special rice dishes, wing platters, and sides like french fries and onion rings.
Be sure to save room for dessert: Deep-fried Double Stuf Oreos and deep-fried Snickers bars are slated to be added to the menu soon after opening. (In the meantime, head to The Haven in Jamaica Plain for deep-fried Mars bars with maple whipped cream.)
Chick Chick Boom has taken over the former Frozen Yogi space, as previously reported; it’ll accommodate 16 to 18 people when the restaurant opens. Stay tuned for details on an opening date, but in the meantime, take a peek at the full menu below:
