A new restaurant specializing in Thai food has arrived in West Roxbury, taking the place of a different Thai restaurant. Som Tum Modern Thai Cuisine has taken over at 1894 Centre St. where Sticky Rice used to be, according to Universal Hub.

The restaurant is named after an iconic Thai dish, green papaya salad, and its chef has created a menu of dishes she grew up eating.

“We chose this dish as the namesake of our restaurant as we hope our delicious food and modern atmosphere will make Som Tum Modern Thai Cuisine a staple of dining in West Roxbury just as som tum is a staple of Thai cuisine,” the restaurant’s website reads.

The menu features appetizers, salads, soups, and entrees that include noodles, curry, and fried rice. Diners will find items like scallion pancakes, the namesake green papaya salad, wonton soup, kapow (with chicken or pork), mango curry, and a variety of steamed fish entrees. The restaurant also has designated menus with gluten-free and vegan options.

Som Tum Modern Thai Cuisine offers takeout and delivery, and it serves lunch and dinner seven days a week.
