Medford’s Wegmans Will Have a Built-In Burger Restaurant

A mega-grocery store coming next month to Medford will have more than just retail options for the city north of Boston. The forthcoming location of Wegmans — a growing Western New York grocery chain with a cult following — will bring to the Meadow Glen Mall a restaurant called the Burger Bar, as Boston Magazine reports. Not to be confused with Brookline Village’s new Best Burger Bar, the Wegmans restaurant will be situated within the 120,000-square-foot grocery store and will serve a straightforward menu of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and milkshakes.

The Burger Bar by Wegmans currently exists in several stores in New York, New Jersey, and Maryland, but this will be its first appearance in New England; Chestnut Hill’s Wegmans has no such burger oasis. The forthcoming grocery store will also have a Market Cafe, which will serve sushi, pizza, sandwiches, and packaged items, with seating for more than 200 people.

Look out for the arrival of Wegmans at 7 a.m. on November 5 at 3850 Mystic Valley Pkwy. in Medford.
