A local group of restaurants and food trucks shuttered its Allston brick-and-mortar location on Friday, October 27. Chicken & Rice Guys CEO Ian So announced the closure of the 81 Harvard Ave. restaurant in a Facebook post on Friday, citing a partnership at that location that “was not working out for either party.”
So simultaneously announced a move to expand the food truck department for Chicken & Rice Guys, which secured a new 10,000-square-foot truck warehouse in Everett and will add regular service in Quincy, Waltham, Needham, and Somerville, along with continuing existing appearances in Boston, Cambridge, Lexington, and Burlington. This move comes less than a month after Chicken & Rice Guys reinstated truck operations after a hiatus spent implementing advanced safety measures to ensure food safety.
Chicken & Rice Guys has three other brick-and-mortar locations — two in Downtown Boston and one in Medford. The group specializes in rice plates with a choice of protein that includes chicken, gyro, and baked tofu, and it has a special recipe for a popular creamy garlic sauce, along with other topping and sauce options.
Attention #Allston, better sit down. We need to tell you something.
