Caffe Nero Is up and Running at Assembly Row

A collection of European coffee shops continues to grow its presence in Greater Boston, and one more location joins the mix today: Caffe Nero debuted its newest outpost at Somerville’s Assembly Row at 7 a.m. on Friday, October 20, and will offer free coffee to customers throughout the day until 3 p.m.

The London-based company serves beverages inspired by the coffee-making methods of Italy. Caffe Nero first came to Boston in 2014, opening a location in Downtown Crossing. The chain spent the last several years expanding around the metro area and into the suburbs, with locations in Wellesley, Andover, and Reading. So far, its United States presence is limited to Massachusetts.

In addition to coffee, Caffe Nero serves tea, pastries, cakes, sandwiches, salads, and other treats.

Today’s opening at 375 Assembly Row comes on the heels of openings for Caffe Nero’s new locations on the campus of Boston University and in South Boston.
