A Korean restaurant with locations in Boston and Cambridge closed down its location in Harvard Square in the midst of preparations for opening a new location in Kenmore Square. Kaju Tofu House, located at 57 JFK St. within the Crimson Galeria near Harvard University, closed its doors last Wednesday, September 27, according to the Harvard Crimson. The restaurant originally opened in 2013, joining the Allston location (56 Harvard Ave.).
While Cambridge will be down one source for Korean dishes, Kenmore Square will gain an asset: Kaju’s relocation will bring it to 636 Beacon St., where it will take over the former Thai Dish space on the north side of the square.
Kaju joins Fin’s Japanese Cuisine and UBurger in the same building, as Boston Restaurant Talk notes. Kaju serves a range of Korean dishes, including shabu-shabu (or hot pot), spicy tofu, soft tofu soup, kimchi stew, and bibimbap.
