A pair of nightlife venues about a week from opening in the rapidly growing Seaport District will feature expansive spaces for food, drink, and entertainment. The Grand and Scorpion Bar Boston will debut on October 25 and 26, respectively, in Seaport Square, courtesy of Big Night Entertainment Group, which already operates two other Scorpion Bar locations, one at Patriot Place in Foxboro and another at Foxwoods Casino.

This is the same group responsible for other large, glitzy Boston nightlife spots like Gem, Red Lantern, and Empire, in addition to Downtown Boston’s new French-and-Californian cafe, Explorateur.

The Grand spans more than 12,000 square feet of space at 58 Seaport Blvd. and includes an expansive dance floor, private bar spaces, and entertainment spaces for guests like Steve Aoki and Hardwell, among others. After opening next Wednesday, the Grand will operate Friday, Saturday, and Monday from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m., with availability for events seven nights a week.

In the same building, on a different level, Scorpion Bar will take on the role of both restaurant and nightlife venue in 10,000 square feet of space. The Mexican cantina-inspired menu includes items like papas fritas, guacamole, flautas, fajitas, tacos, burritos, and enchiladas, plus desserts like churros and sorbet.

On the drinks side, Scorpion Bar will offer a selection of more than 100 tequilas, including a house option made by Avion Tequila. There are also cocktails (and yes, scorpion bowls), margaritas, and more. Scorpion Bar opens next Thursday, and beyond that, the venue’s kitchen will operate daily from 12 to 10 p.m., while the bar will be open Sunday to Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 12 a.m. and Thursday to Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 a.m.

In other Mexican restaurant news, Back Bay mainstay Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar just debuted a second location, this one in Fort Point, just a third of a mile from the forthcoming Scorpion Bar. And with Papagayo and Rosa Mexicano also in the vicinity — and eventually a Bartaco — the neighborhoods could be the perfect spot for taco and margarita crawls.
