Bon Me Continues to Expand in Cambridge

One of Boston’s food truck and restaurant companies has a new brick-and-mortar location opening in Cambridge and a second restaurant in the works, expanding its growing footprint even further. Bon Me’s new flagship restaurant at 60 Binney St. in East Cambridge officially opens on October 19, but between now and then, customers can get an early look at the restaurant’s expanded menu this week, as Boston Magazine reports.

Those familiar with Bon Me’s Vietnamese-inspired menu will recognize its classic noodle bowls, salads, and banh mi, but there are a few new players in the mix for the Binney Street restaurant, including a dan dan noodle bowl, a vegetarian take on bibimbap, and chicken udon noodle soup. The restaurant also plans to add beer and cider to the menu upon receiving approval for its beer license.

Those who visit Bon Me’s grand opening on October 19 will find samples of the new menu items and will be eligible for giveaways. But anyone who misses this grand opening could have the opportunity to check out another new Bon Me on its future opening day, as the local company is working to add another restaurant in Cambridge within Harvard University’s Smith Campus Center, as Boston Restaurant Talk reports, along with Pavement Coffeehouse and Swissbakers.

Bon Me started out as a food truck in 2010 and over the last seven years expanded to operate a fleet of trucks and six restaurants around Greater Boston. The company is also known for its advocacy for a higher minimum wage and aims to pay employees $15 per hour within two years.
